I work well under pressure (or motivation) I said, right? Well, sure, but why does the Universe always have to conspire against me? I mean, today was a total fuck-up.
First of all, the marble I had to cut was crap. It had so many cracks in it, I couldn't cut anything out of it. Even if I managed to get one of the pieces cut out, the moment I picked it up from the table, it just broke apart.
After 2 hours I thought 'well, fuck this' and hit the 'power off' button, which short-circuited, fused the up-down control of the saw, which in turn drove the sawblade down into the table (thank god it came to a halt before it drove into the steel) and then blew practicaly every fuse in the shop. The grand finale was black smoke coming out of the control cabin and a lightbulb exploding next to my face.
The problem wasn't solved, but I managed to do a bypass by cutting 2 cables and disconnecting the up/down motor. So it works again for the time being.
Then our bronze casting went totally wrong. I had to cast 4 half spheres and 3 name plaques. The spheres looked like crap and one of the plaques was wrong as 'someone' apparently cannot read my handwriting.
Well, ok, that's understandable, as I myself usually cannot read my handwriting.
So 2nd try tomorrow early afternoon. I'm running out of time. I have to get things done by monday night or I'm pretty much fucked.
In other news, I saw 'Constantine' tonight. Great movie. I mean, seriously, anything involving angels is ok in my book. I'm not talking about the 'nice' kind of angels that make 2 people fall in love and that kind of crap, like you get in so many cheesy movies. I mean, angels were messengers, destroyers, assassins, whatnot,... If you've seen 'The Prophecy' 1 to 3, you know what I mean. This was similar. Very good. Makes me want to read that book 'From the Ashes of Angels' again and find some publication on Angelic Script. I've always been interested in that kind of stuff. I don't know who played Gabriel in this movie, but it was interesting to see a female version of this Archangel. (To prove my point, Gabriel is described as: One of the two highest ranking angels. He is the leading angel who stands in the presence of the God/Goddess as a co-ordinator. He is the Archangel of annunciation, humanity, resurrection, heavenly mercy, vengeance, death, revelation, truth, and hope. Bringer of news and heralds the revealing of answers. Notice the VENGEANCE and DEATH here?) Ocourse, the best Gabriel was Christopher Walken in the Prophecy series. Anyone who has seen those movies will agree with me on this.
But anyway, if you haven't seen 'Constantine' yet, you should. It's pretty cool.
Later, kids.

Contrary to you, I was disappointed. Keanu is getting old, still can't act. The scenario - if there was one - was wasted on me. Perhaps that's because I'm neither familiar with the bible nor the Storm comics.
What I did like were some of the visuals and especially the wings... I was utterly fascinated with this androgynous creature playing Gabriel. Turns out it's this Scottish actress Tilda Swinton. And she's played androgynous or simply male parts before. I plan to rent out Orlando, where she plays the part of a Elisabethan courtier... should be fun, no?
Hope you have a great time!

I'm not that familiar with the bible either, but this thing about angels has always fascinated me. I think you appreciate the movie better if you know a thing or two about the War in Heaven, although I must admit that the 'son of Lucifer' was something new to me as well.
